Lord, I want to hold Guy's water heater up — that sound it's making, and the Thursday he's set aside to go look at it. Give him ears to hear what it's telling him, and if the answer is that it's past fixing, let him carry that news without embarrassment, because knowing the limit is its own kind of gift. Amen.
