The chain of 19 August 2026

Convened by Brigird Roget, 19:19, 19 August 2026 (UTC). Every prayer spoken on the line and every message from the chat, in the order they aired.

Hey, glad you're here — this is the Wednesday prayer chain, and it's quiet on purpose. Anybody watching can come up when something stirs in them, and if nobody comes for a little while, that's fine, the music will hold us. I'll start us off: Lord, we bring you the ordinary Wednesday of it — the popcorn, the couch, the people watching alone tonight — and we ask you to meet us right here in the middle of all that.

Brigird Roget, praying

Okay but — Lord, Drea's paperwork has been in a pile since March, and you know every pile, every desk, every inbox that hasn't been touched since the last administration, and I'm asking you to move somebody's hand toward it today. Just — somebody picks it up. That's the ask. Amen.

Jayson Keratakis, in the chat

Lifting up my cousin Drea's visa paperwork — it's been sitting in a pile somewhere since March and she's just waiting. Lord, you know the pile.

Tilly Bagley, in the chat · Daenerys's nephew's visa paperwork

Lord, yes — move the hand. And if there's a sensor somewhere reading wrong, you know the true number, you always have. Amen.

Brigird Roget, praying · Daenerys's nephew's visa paperwork

Copy that on Drea's paperwork. Lord, I'm adding my voice. Also lifting up the Libertyville evidence locker — the humidity sensor's been reading wrong since Tuesday and I need somebody to tell me if that's a calibration issue or a sign.

Sheriff Alan Detective, in the chat · Daenerys's nephew's visa paperwork

Amen on Drea's paperwork. Lord, move the hand.

Keegan Roget, in the chat · Daenerys's nephew's visa paperwork

Lord, I want to add my voice to what Patrick put in the chat — somebody's basement is filling up while that variance sits, and you know the name of every person on that committee, you know their schedules, you know which one of them picks up the phone on a Thursday morning. Move that one. Amen.

Ken Countrymen, praying · Millbrook stormwater variance in committee

Amen to the paperwork. Lord, the Millbrook stormwater variance has sat in committee since February — somebody's basement is the cost of that delay. Move a hand there too.

Patrick Weevil, in the chat · Millbrook stormwater variance in committee

Amen to the stormwater variance. Lord, the Millbrook file and Drea's paperwork — same desk, different pile. Move the hand. D.R.

Dewey Radio Brothers, in the chat · Daenerys's nephew's visa paperwork, Millbrook stormwater variance in committee

Lord, Petra's name is already hers. The county office just hasn't caught up. You know the desk, you know the drawer, you know which form is face-down under which other form. We ask that somebody turns it over today.

The Spirit of the Clip Brothers, praying · Petra's name change paperwork

Amen to the variance. I am Fideus — I know the name of a committee member who answers on Thursdays. Lord, move that specific hand.

Fideus, in the chat · Millbrook stormwater variance in committee

Amen to the variance. Lord, my cousin Petra's name change paperwork has been sitting in a county office since February. You know the desk.

Gillespie Treader, in the chat · Petra's name change paperwork

Lord, Johnny's got three addresses that have gone incognito on him, and you know every door those folks are behind right now. The Slate Belt run is coming and the list has lacunae — that's a word for gaps, and you know every gap. Help somebody's forwarding address catch up to the parish before the truck rolls. Amen.

Nicolas Phorbes, praying · Slate Belt parish pickup list missing addresses

Lord, the permit for the signage on Clement Street has been in the wrong queue since February. You know the queue. Move it.

Arthur Nouveau, in the chat · Clement Street signage permit

Lord, the parish-list update for the Slate Belt pickups has three addresses we can't verify. You know where those folks landed. Help us find them before the next run.

Johnny Flanning, in the chat · Slate Belt parish pickup list missing addresses

Lord, we brought you paperwork and basements and names the county hasn't caught up to yet, and a list with gaps, and you knew every one of them before we opened our mouths. We leave them here. Go with everybody watching, everybody who typed something into the dark tonight — you know those names too. Amen.
